Meh. Whoever fills that spot will be expected to play defense first, keep the cycle going, and generate occasional scoring chances without getting exposed. That's how Kings' centers play.

Schenn's clearly going to be the better option. One day. Maybe as soon as next October. But not today. He doesn't know Murray's system as well as Lewis does and he doesn't know his linemates as well and he's less familiar with the pace of the NHL game and with tomorrow night's opponents. So while there's probably more upside with Schenn on the scoring piece, it's downside for all the rest.

The move is completely reasonable.
