Also, look to local indoor training facilities. I play roller hockey. They have leagues for all ages, relatively well priced, and its competitive and fun.
Whatever you do, don't play ball hockey. street hockey balls are evil and need to be disposed of immediately.

I also built my own net for street hockey. buy 3 or 4 2X4's, some chicken wire ( or mesh, whatever floats your boat), and some nails. It doesn't have to be perfect, but a net that costs 150$ can be made with wood for 40$.

Also, those goalie targets are awesome for accuracy practice. has all four corners and the five hole.
