NHL playoff games are a war of inches, and every player must not only make space for himself, but also take away time and space from the opponents through a total commitment to positional play and accurate execution.
It is totally unfair and unrealistic to expect a player to come out of Junior and be able to magically find himself in the slot with the puck and able to deliver that quick hard shot we know he has.
Meanwhile, it is almost a certainty that Leblanc will not be ready for the defensive, positional side of things if thrust into the playoffs today. Even Ryan White and David Desharnais can only play limited minutes, even after 3 years in the AHL.
I guess you`re right....Can`t wait for his arrival though. Habs have been famous(in the past) for bringing up an unknown to totally blow the other team away....And I mean in shock value but contributes.
