From a PHX perspective, and upgrade in goal would be most helpful. However, those two D-men are very important to the Coyotes.

Gauthier ain't goin anywhere. Barnett said that trading Langkow was one of the toughest things he had to do, so that'll tell you how bad they needed a physical Dman like Gauthier. Saprykin was a nice kick-in with that deal.

Mara has improved steadily in point totals and just plain hockey-sense over the past few seasons. At age 25, his best years are ahead of him. PHX traded the filthy rich Khabibulin to get him and Mike Johnson (et al).

The current Coyote blue line has a nice balance of bash and dash, and I don't think management wants to yutz with it. If anything, PHX has too many forwards in the ranks.
