I expect a vet signing over the summer to replace Handzus, a winger most likely. The youth we had out there was painfully obvious over the course of this series. The pressure was a lot for them and you could see the lack of poise.
For those of you wanting 3 or 4 youngsters next year (Schenn, Kozun, Toffoli, Voinov, etc.) prepare to be disappointed. The Kings are at the point where they need to sign an impact player, and if they cant do that, trade assets to get one. If the Kings were to bring up a bunch of youth, I would probably call and cancel my seats. Starting next season, the time is now for the Kings. They are young enough - now go get an impact player and raise expectations.
I expect the only young addition to the Kings will be Schenn, and an outside chance at Hickey or Voinov. I would be shocked if one of those two aren't traded at or before the draft. Any other young player will have to play out of their mind to make the squad. I'm most curious to see what they do with Loktionov. He's shown he is best at center, and we simply don't have a spot for him.
