Of course playing goal isn't easy, but at the same time, if it was the first time you've ever grabbed a hockey stick and started playing forward, it'd be extremely hard as well. The fact is that hockey is not an easy sport to play all around. You can't just decide to play any position one day and be even decent at it.
Someone can pick up a basketball and throw it into the net and get beginners luck and sink some shots. Some can have someone throw them a football and catch it. Someone who has pretty decent hand-eye coordination can hit a pitch (not a major league pitch, but you know what I mean). It's not easy to just pick up a hockey stick and figure out how to shoot a puck more than 5 miles per hour. I've seen people try and it's pretty funny to watch. Just like it's not easy to strap on pads for the first time and stop a small puck that's flying at you at high speeds.
Same goes for soccer goalie (which is probably even harder because the net is huge).
