Not that it really matters, the key thing here is that both Detroit and San Jose have much better forward depth than last year. Both teams defense has had its issues at times and both teams have had their starting goalie go from looking like a Vezina candidate to a waiver candidate over the course of the season.

I just hope its an awesome series... and that the sharks win.
Well, in fairness to Phoenix when comparing them to LA in the regular season, they were better in terms of scoring and even in PP%. But LA didn't have Kopitar. Phoenix was actually better in virtually all offensive categories.

LA definitely had more skill and has a better lineup on paper.

But I think the difference obviously was Bryzgalov isn't good in the playoffs and Quick was better, besides his mammoth collapses.
