Personally, when I'm at a track, I often times (probably too often) let the horse's appearance influence my decisions during the post parade.
The problem with that is you can be fooled by a good looking horse who just doesn't class up.
On the other hand, an eye catcher in the post parade is telegraphing their desire to perform at that moment. If they feel good they show it.
