He's bad in his own zone, is not that great of a passer, doesn't really work well in any zone of the ice(he just stands in the slot in the offensive zone).

When Carter's confidence is low, he can be a borderline 4th line player since he is doing absolutely nothing right.

He's regressed since leaving Edmonton considerably.

Anyways, not my concern... you'll see for yourself.
