I had a similar situation where I did the opposite of what you did (I usually use PM9 and had to use a P92). Essentially the same thing happened to me. it's just a matter of getting used to the new curve. After a few games/practices I settled into the curve more (and then of course the blade tip shattered and I had to go back to using a PM9).

After that, I started to keep a backup stick with the same-patterned blade...IMO worth it (and I'm fairly thrifty) because if you have to change patterns mid-game you're going to have the same problem all over again.
