If that's right Korpikoski's already played one year ( a question might be if the new agreement is retroactive to previous years) and would need to be signed before during or after the coming season. It also explains why so few europeans were drafted this year.
First of all, I'm not sure if the new CBA also includes players drafted before the new CBA was put into place. Second of all, I think the Rangers do plan on signing Korpi at the end of this season, and brining him over to oplay with the Wolfpack next season. That would make sense being that he'll be 20 years old by then
