Granted, $2 million is too much to pay a player to go away, only half of Sean Avery's contract was/is on the Stars' payroll.

I looked just to be sure but the Stars don't really have a player with a true "bad contract." Sure, Daley's is probably too long but aside from that and Krys Barch actually having an NHL contract at all the Stars don't have any that I consider to be bad contracts. Loui's is fantastic and most guys who matter are paid about what they should be.
