If Kane had scored a goal to make it to the Finals and Matteau had scored to win the Cup, which would you consider bigger, no matter the circumstances of the goal?
Anyone who believes that a goal that gets you to the Finals should be slated above a Stanley Cup winner isn't being honest with themselves.
If you're just concerned about pretty goals, why not vote for the Malik one over both of them?

Come on chosen, don't be such a grump!

The goal that Matteau scored is one of the most important in Ranger history, I can't imagine what life would have been like without it. Yes, objectively speaking, the goal that wins the Stanley Cup is more important (although maybe not as memorialable), but Matteau will be remembered by Ranger fans forever, while Kane's goal will just be footnote #16 for Ranger fans.
And Malik's artistry doesn't count as a real goal--it was scored in a skills competition. Yes, it was fun, yes, it got the Rangers a point, but when all is said and done, it's just a footnote, nothing more.
