Would you give up the 1st pick overall for a 28 year old Chris Pronger? I would do that any day of the week. Unless that 1st pick is Crosby/Ovechkin. Maybe Malkin can be on that list.
Right now, I'd give up our first pick for Evander Kane. Instant grit and destructive force. Put Kane and Hall centered by Horcoff and let's watch them do some damage. Heck, just trade our 1st for Kane. Then sign Richards.

Well this is borderline retarded. There's a lot of players in the NHL that are much better than RNH right now, but RNH could be better in five years. You're saying that you'd give up the first pick for, say, Dustin Penner because Penner is a better player right now and probably for the next two seasons.
Not to mention Kane has a hell of a lot more potential Buf does. Not to mention that as of now, Kane's career high is 43 points, so you're completely contradicting yourself when you say you'd take the better player, considering Kane's value is mostly in his potential, not what he will produce now.
What you're basically saying is that you'd trade Evander Kane for Dustin Penner, considering Penner is likely better than Kane as well.
