Pascal didn't sign with NJ because Lou wouldn't offer him a multi-year deal. Once Rasmussen was signed, Rheaume became odd man out, with Rupp and Berglund having good camps. Rheaume was brought up in the Devils' system. He was picked up from Atlanta at the deadline, when Guolla and Berglund were injured. He can play both ends at any forward position on a 3rd or 4th checking line. He played well in the playoffs and wanted to finish his career as a Devil. If Sather is going toward a more "trapping" style, defensive system, he can teach the youngsters in Hartford positioning by example. If Rasmussen busts, we will regret losing him. Good to see him playing again.
