IMO, many sophomore slumps are the result of players being relied on to play against tougher opposition than in their rookie seasons. See Bogosian in Atlanta this year, or Richards and Carter in 06-07. If the Habs want to protect Markov and Gorges to start the season, then yeah, I can definitely see an adjustment period for PK. I think he'll come out of it relatively smoothly, he's done well in stints against top competition already - but over a long stretch of games, with an aging Gill as his partner, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes through some rough patches.
