Gaborik's game on the rush is about using speed but once he's in the zone, he prefers or is better suited getting open and letting someone like Brad Richards control the zone. Sure Gaborik has added some board work to his game but if he can just hang out in the slot, shake a defender, get open, and slam in a beautiful pass, that's his preferred and more successful style of game. Jagr on the other hand wants to control the play in the zone so naturally he does not work with another puck hog like Gomez. Gomez doesn't know where to be on the ice in that situation any more. All Gomez had to freakin' learn was that one move Nyls would always do - skate in past the blue line, peel off into a circle, leave the puck for Jags, collect assists up the wazoo. And if BR carries the puck in, Gomez is equally effective being the late man in but he's so fast that would hardly ever happen. According to Gordie Clark, MDZ's outlet pass is going to improve Gaborik's production.
