Buffalo may be overpaying a bit but Detroit is sending the premier player over in the deal for quantity over quality.

If the Wings have to move Datsyuk for cap reasons, then they won't get anywhere near that type of return for Datsyuk.

And Regier won't give up that much to acquire anyone. You can pretty much count on that one.

If the Wings wanted to take a package of like Connolly and Campbell or merely 2nd or 3rd round picks + a midling prospect like say Kriukov, then I migth see the Sabres doing that depending on Datsyuk's asking price.

Although, I could see the Sabres staying away from Datsyuk entirely if he were to want the type of money that would make it impossible to re-sign Briere after the season.
