i gotta disagree on that one.

Old Georgie is a pain in the posterior for sure but he has just as much money as many of these other owners.

The difference? He actually wants to win the game. A lot of these other guys could give two shots about baseball. Everyone got all happy cheery for the angels last year. They were owned by one of the biggest conglomerates in the world.

to me the marlins represent things far more scary than the yankees. a team that not many people care about, playing in an area where not many people care about them and most likely being auctioned off through the years because some rich guy's "toy" is getting too costly.

if baseballs owners put more effort into their teams and genuinly wanted to win, all the fans of baseball would win.

however, nothing can fix fans who dont care..... no salary cap, no strike, nothing....

arizona was a beautiful story two years ago but you knew it was scary for baseball when the arizona republic ran a story during the playoffs "Explaining" the rules of baseball to its readership.

baseball like hockey is being run like a bad business. they didnt even have all their ducks in a row and they expanded. now they have even more of a mess on their hands
