Why? This is a quote from Hamr back in February.............

"It's not a question of money," said the 36-year-old defender. "At my age, it's important to be comfortable where you are. I'm happy in Montreal, I've made friends here over the years and I don't want to move. I'd like to sign another contract and finish my career here, but the decision isn't mine to make."

Supposedly the Habs offered a smidgeon under 3 mil but wouldn't give another year. He went elsewhere and got what he wanted - to sign one more contract. The story goes he actually rejected a 3 year offer from another team to go to Washington.

Anyway.........good luck to you Hamr and thanks for your efforts. You worked with a depleted D for most of your time in Montreal. You definitely were the pillar of strength to keep it stabilized until Markov could get back on his feet and the youngins' could come into their own primarily Gorges, Weber and Subban.
