Certainly. (Is the KHL the 'real world'?) But at some point it may have been known that they were discussing a different deal with Rads and that it was one year. Maybe it was tightly under wraps. But I say too bad Poile wasn't right on top of it. Surely an NHL deal would have sounded a lot better to a guy at the time he was hearing the KHL wanted to renegotiate and was offering just one, or that they felt they couldn't pay his old deal in full whether or not he agreed to a new deal.
