Avery is the most offensively talented of our bottom 6 players, IMO. But the rest of his game and how he plays it makes him a very good 4th liner, pretty good 3rd liner.

But people either love him too much and think he's much better than that, or hate him so much so they complain he's not performing at that level.

I'd gladly take Avery (sans his ridiculous contract) for another year on our bottom 6. Worst case scenario, a kid beats him out and he's the extra forward. Best case scenario Hagelin is overwhelmed and you have a good player to put there.
