Drinking a day before the game - I hope - is forbidden for any Kings player. It affects performance, it's a fact.

This Philly story is something different though. Sometimes I go weeks or a month without a drop of alcohol, but you wouldn't see my name on that board. If for nothing else, the principle. When the players go out for a lunch, many of them have a beer and some of them don't drink alcohol. I have never understood forced alcohol abstinence. If you have a drinking problem, I do understand. But for every responsible athlete alcohol abstinence is not required, he will never drink above the limit when it matters.

For that reason such Dry Island board is problematic to me, because it divides the team and implies that missing players are some kind of drunks. In my opinion such board is a bad idea in any locker room.
