I really wouldn't either, however,...

many fans seem to imortalize him for his Cup run, the '97 run, and the World's, which seemed to absolve him a bit from mostly average play from '98-2002. Sure there were flashes of that 'immortal' Richter, but overall, he was mostly average. I'm as big a Richter supporter there is out there, but I do recognize he was part of the team's problems.
