As Levitate I think pointed out Pöck made some great plays both ways, not all offense. He looks like a player!
Though something he needs to work on is his outlet passing game. Thoose homerun passes where great and showed tremendous instincts if anything. But the tempo of the game in the NHL is really high and it showed that Pöck played allot in the ECHL last year. Pöck didn't really have that "feeling" how to set up the simple transition plays. He hanged on to the puck a little bit to long at times or passed players a little bit to early, the timming wasn't really there. And I didn't got the feeling that its was nerves/preseason types of plays. Its something that will come with time, though its quit the science and a really imporant part of a defenders game.
But at the same time I am not convinced that Hartford is the place to learn thoose things. Sather have talked about how HFD should be a place where defenders aren't always asked to just lift the puck out and I don't know how much of these new rules the AHL is gooing to implement but from what I've seen of the AHL its hardly a place for D's to learn how to play a transition game...
