isn't that true with most star players though? they get all the credit for making the players they play with good or great without said players getting any credit for developing into good or great players on their own. not all cases, Gretzky played with a journeyman winger named Blair McDonald, who had only marginal talent, but his 1st year beside Gretzky, he scored 46 goals, then never came close again when he was removed from Gretzky's line and was traded. when Jari Kurri came along, Gretzky made him into a 100 point winger, but after Gretz was traded from the Oilers, Kurri still had 2 seasons of 102 and 93 points before being traded to LA. so sometimes the players who play with the star players have legit talent of their own.
