You have to give Lou credit on the Hunter buyout. My sense is he didn't want Rolston. Rolston's contract was 1 year remaing at $5ml. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Rolston was an over 35yr contract which means the full cap hit would occur even in a buyout, so Lou trades the player/contract for a lesser contract that he can then buyout at a lesser dollar amount and save his team both money and cap space. If he was so set on not having Rolston on his team, the Hunter trade/buyout really made sense.
