Yes, once you turn 20, your ELC starts whether you are in AHL, ECHL or NHL.
The ELC starts at 18 if you play at least 10 NHL games in one season. This is why Clifford's ELC has started and Schenn's has not.
Europeans that play in the AHL at 18 and 19 have their ELC push out and it doesn't start until they are 20. This is why Voynov is only into his 2nd year of his ELC instead of it being done. He played in Manchester as an 18 and 19 year old.
Bud made $55,000 while playing in the AHL. His NHL cap hit would have been $650,000.
