Damn giving up Johansson doesn't make much sense to me. He was ready to make the team next year, wich possibly could have helped the team cope with the possible loss of any of Forsberg/Selanne/Kariya.

I think Konowalchuk is an upgrade for our team, and I don't think Battaglia will be that much missed. He was in Tony G's doghouse anyway.

But all in all, PL did seriously overpay in this deal, and Washington wins it IMO. The only good thing is that we have a nice stockpile of draftpicks now, wich should help in a few years time, even though this year's draft is supposed to be weak, considering the Avs' past draft record.

And again we see the influence Granato has in the organisation, wich is really surprising to say the least. Unless of course it is in fact PL who is making all the calls, with Granato being merely the man executing PL's orders, but I sincerely doubt that.
We've already tried to trace the reasons behind Granato's huge influence, but I don't think we'll ever find out.
