So much is wrong with this sentence. Yes, the Devils drafted
Larsson to replace Niedermayer, who has been gone since 2005.
Also, the Devils and Rangers are among the only
rival teams that refuse to trade amongst each other. It's never going to happen. They wait until the offseason and pick at each others garbage, but that's as far as they'll go.
