Sweden has done an incredible job producing young defensemen but Canada's depth is unmatched, Schenn, Subban, Pietrangelo, Doughty and Myers are all born in '89 or '90 and are legitimate top pairing NHL defenseman already. Throw in guys like Weber and Keith who still have many years left in them the Swedes haven't quite caught up. The next generation includes guys like Murphy, Hamilton, Murray and Reinhart so more studs are on the way. Canada will always have the lockdown on best defensemen and centres for the foreseeable future.
