If they'd held onto Richards I would agree with you. However they now have exactly one top-6 heavy lifter in terms of centres (Giroux). Philly probably replaced Carter's on-ice contributions in the trades/signings they made, but I have my doubts as to whether or not they compensated for the loss of Richards.
