CC

These guys had a good season last year to grow on. Laying waste to the defending National champs and narrowly losing to eventual 2nd best Michigan was a strong finish. A lot of the key elements are back; I don't think I need to mention The Schwartz is strong in this team. Is that Spaceballs? I've only heard it paraphrased but couldn't really sit through that celluloid turd. Stephen Schultz and Tyler Johnson are big losses up front but there were plenty of underclassmen that put up double digit points last year. It should be fun to see how many points Jaden will get if plays a full season this year.

The defense is pretty deep with Gabe Guentzel at the helm. I've always held Guentzel in high regard...not quite Kurt Davis material, but a real asset to the backline. This will be a veteran squad that can rely on Joe Howe to bail them out when they do mis-step.

This year's CC squad kind of reminds me of last year's Duluth squad: high profile scorers with good depth, a mobile blueline that can chip in offensively and solid, but not spectacular goaltending (although I'd say Joe Howe is better than Kenny Reiter). No one would argue Duluth had a satisfactory season last year.
