What was the purpose of him mentioning his retirement anyway, it serves no useful purpose whatsoever as far as I can tell except to distract the players and worry the fans unnecessarily.
If and when he knows for sure that he'll be hanging up the skates here in Canada and it's his final year then he can announce it to the world. Until then... shaddup and play the game.
As far as me complaining about his performance so far... well I really haven't. I know it's just a matter of time and he'll be back on the track. No big deal.
Personally, I'd rather that all the hockey players keep their personal lives out of the game. I for one have absolutely no interest in hearing what they plan to do with the rest of their lives with all their millions, whether it be building golf courses or going back home to Sweden to build their mansions. When they're finished their job here, then I'll be more than happy to listen to what their future plans are. But that's just me.
