That's the key point. There are times, especially when they have to go head to head against a top pairing tandem and a checking line, they can be limited in their offensive production.

If they weren't twins, they probably get split up. Getzlaf/Perry, Toews/Kane, Datsyuk/Zetterberg, Stamkos/St.Louis, whatever the top duo you have, if they aren't going, you split them up so that you force the opposition to pick one guy to check and hopefully, the other guy is able to generate some offense against a different D pairing.

We all know what they can do together. Why not see get them some experience playing with others in the event you need to play that hand in the playoffs?

Splitting them up might also finally wake Henrik up to shooting the darn puck more. He'll never be a goalscorer, but would very much like to see him put more pucks on net to generate second chance opportunities.
