What I've seen of Fayne is that he's a defensive liability at this level. He may or may not have potential, but when he was on the ice, the Devils were a VERY easy team to attack and press. McDonagh is the exact opposite - he's very sound defensively and makes the safe play, even in Tortorella's system which puts a lot of pressure on the Rangers D. I don't know about this offense at this point b/c last year he was making sure he played D first and very soundly.
