1984 was a much superior book than 2011. Oh wait.

Back to hockey, 1984 was preceded by one PO win in the ten games played the prior three years. It wasn't a rejection of one season. The Flyers struggled with consistency on the blueline and in the nets for much of that time. McCammon was a much better GM/scout than coach. 1985 was in some ways comparable to 1995. The teams didn't win but the prior years (1982-84 and 1990-94) in each case seemed in the distant past.
