kids are one thing, but when it's some mid-life crisis-having hack in a rec league, it kinda makes me nauseous... he's a lawyer to boot...what kind of a deluded asshat has the nerve to take 99?
we also have a 66 in our league (but he's actually highly skilled so you almost forgive him), and a 69 (i remember giving him a ton of guff about it in-game during his first year in the league; i inadvertantly elbowed him, he whined about me not getting a penalty and i chapped him on the way to the bench for having such a ****** bag number).
but i can't talk, i went with one of those glamour boy numbers for a few seasons... my two favorite players of all-time are Rod Gilbert and Gordie but both 7 and 9 were taken...so i went with #79.
of course i never lived it down when Yashin went to NYI and took that number.
i stuck with it a couple more seasons, f-you, i gave Yashin and Markov their props, too.
but now i am back to #10 from my first year.
