he's a heart and soul type of player who could be a rod brind'amour? type of player if he gets his head and emotions straightened out. even if he doesn't realize his full potential, he could be an excellent 3rd/4th line pest/grinder. he's got potential and the Flyers scouts have been doing well the last few years, so it would make sense that Downie has some real upside to him. i think the Flyers having him with the team in duh-ronto was a vote of confidence in him and a chance to seriously talk to him about changes he needs to make.
