demote mza AND christensen, call up avery and newbury to be scratched. should be able to keep below the cap that way.

everybody on this forum flipped out over how great mats looked in preseason. he was nearly invisible in the first 4 games (the north america games) and was much better on olympic ice because he wasn't getting hit and was playing against teams from SWITZERLAND, THE CZECH REPUBLIC, SLOVAKIA, and SWEDEN.

great, a guy who was invisible at the end of last season and couldn't make the post-season roster can score goals on the bigger ice against teams who are literally not even in our league. teams that play in front of 6,000 people every night because they simply shouldn't even be on the ice with the rangers.

this kid has talent, but not superior talent. he works hard but working hard doesn't mean a thing if you weigh 140 pounds. he has the body of a 16 year old. NHL defensemen can shove him around.

at the end of the day, zucarello will not be an nhl "star", or anything more than a marginal player. he'll be great if he goes back to europe but will amount to nothing in the united states. i've 100% given up hope that he can make it here.

and if you really want proof that torts has an issue with avery, look at the guy they call up. not only is avery not the 13th forward, he's not even the 14th. avery has a hell of a lot more talent than newbury has ever displayed and plays the game a lot better than newbury ever has. i'm fine with newbury logging 5 minutes in occasional games but he is NOT an nhl player.
