McKenney in Toronto:
..Pappyline:
i recently viewed a LEAFS TV dvd featuring the interviews & initial game of the famous 1964 Bathgate/McKenney trade..At first, Dave Keon centered Andy at RW & Don at LW...The announcers, Bill Hewitt and comp. were amazed at the deamenor and speed demonstrated by Mckenney!..On one play, Keon is mounting an attack at centre with McKenney trailing well behind, and a few seconds later, in the space of a couple of easy strides, Number 17 had actually snaked pass Keon, who was not exactly slowfooted himself!...Bathgate & Mckenney looked regal in their new blue Toronto sweaters...Classy, veteran Stars of the 1rst caliber! in their last moments of frontline greatness, with the expressed intent of winning the Stanley Cup..A shame their stay in dynastic Toronto was so brief!..And this from someone who could not imagine Bathgate [Rangers] & Don McKenney[ Bruins] anywhere but...,
