I really don't get all the "thank you DP" stuff. It sounds like an article that should have been written for Billy Smith. Where exactly is DP in Islanders history? He was a great Islander because he was drafted number one? He was great because he got a stupid contract? He was great because he got injured so much? I don't get it? As far as an Islander, they way I see it is that DP was a highly touted expensive investment that did not pan out. At this point with the promise of new goal tending it should be time to move on. Does anybody really think that DP is STILL the future of the Islanders in net?

On the personnel side I hope he stops playing for his own good. I think of NY Jets Al Toon and Wayne Cherbet and all they went through with post concussion syndrome. I know its a lot of money but this is a young man who is potentially one slap shot away from a very dark painful future.
