It's clear that Trotz is going to have to do something. The problems that grew during our winning streak are becoming unbearable as Vokoun cools down. Looking at the penalty list, we have names like Zidlicky, Timonen, Legwand, Sullivan. This has to stop. Look over our opponents list and it's just not sprinkled with the same caliber of players. They have a bunch of Brennans, Dipenta's, Salei's, Neidermeyer's, Fedoruk's, Gavey's.

And it's not just that our best players are committing a large portion of our penalties, they are committing them en masse. We gave them 9 power plays including a double minor through the first two periods. During that same time, we had only 5 power plays. Of course, not that our power play is any good which moves me to the next problem. I wasn't able to watch the game, but were Timonen and Zidlicky as ineffective as they have been for the past week or so?

Trotz has got some coaching to do because whatever he's tried over the past week has been an utter failure. Our goals for total is one of the lowest in the league, our power play went from on fire to terrible, and our penalty kill went from unbeatable to merely average. And despite our speed, we have actually had less power plays than our oppositions (75 to 73).
