Same with Lappy. If a team signs an older player who has a history of knee issues, and then that player goes down with a knee injury - then the rule makes sense. But there is nothing age-related or chronic about getting a puck to the face or a stick to the eye.
Still not a cap problem. LTIR "removes" the cap money. This is an Ed Snider's balance sheet issue only.
