as with anything, personal bias alway filters how we interpret things... myself most certainly included.

I think he purposely wasn't taking a hard stance either way, but presenting an opinion as to why the situation as it is leaves it open to serious discussion.

that in and of itself says enough...

there's a reason this type of discussion isn't happening in Detroit, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Philly (even though management themselves took the drastic action to revamp their roster structure this summer)...

those franchises have been run so well the past few years, that both their success (cup wins and/or finals appearances) and their continued status as cup contenders, leaves little reason to seriously question the direction of their organizations... even if individual moves/decisions may still illicit criticism/debate.

at this point, the questions in Montreal aren't just about 1 or 2 moves, they are about the entire direction and focus of the management group... and given how many poor moves have been made, that questioning is perfectly justified (completely irrespective of our bad start to this season).
