I'm booing this thread.
Philly has passionate fans.
Refs annoy us, even if we know the bad calls and calls that go our way even out in the end-- we're going to boo. We just don't like them. Bettman is always going to garner boos.
And we boo all our rivals. It's a community thing. "Yeah, I hate that guy too."
And if you're playing like a bum-- you're definitely going to hear it.
I remember going to a game where Boucher was getting lit up. When he FINALLY made a save, the entire crowd sarcastically cheered and whooped it up. Good stuff.
Let 'em know how you feel, is a good motto for the games.
Flyers fans try to become another element at the game (I think we are kind of quieter now) -- the players say the fans influence the ice -- especially at the Spectrum where it really was a fans arena and other team would get earfulls all game.
Philadelphia players who busted their butts playing hard are gods here and get nothing but cheers.
