so i am one that has been a torts supporter, I have really liked him and his holding players accountable...
well now I have to ask where that has gone???
IF, EC and Wolski are on the top line with gaborik, how on EARTH has the play of those two warranted them the chance to play on the top line, especially EC...He has not even shown that he deserved a roster spot.
I will not say avery should have made the roster because he is avery, I will say that everyone in training camp before the final cut showed they deserved to be on the roster over EC by play.
Accountability, is one thing I was happy with when Torts has come in here. This season, he has strayed from that. First, he chose EC over avery and others to be on the roster, for playing like well not playing. Second, his team is looking bad, he is shuffling lines, and never once did he give MZA a chance on a top line with real minutes to make a difference and show his explosive energy, which i really think he brings and is needed on this team, and in just a couple games on the 3rd/4th line he gets sent down, and in 3 games has 9 shots, 3 goals, 2 assists, 5 points, +4 rating with the CT Whale, I think that is pretty impressive and that sort of play warrants accountability and a real chance! Third, EC on the top line even though his play has not warranted him a chance there, and same with wolski, but torts put em on a top line in practice and maybe for the game today.
I think as soon as you start straying away from what you believe, you are in trouble. Torts needs to wake up and be accountable now for his own actions, he needs to realize what his beliefs are/were and regain that, that made him successful as a coach.
Here's to hoping the lines won't be the lines at practice
