When is the last time a non-generational Russian player (ie. Ovechkin and Malkin) transitioned from the KHL to the NHL and
started lighting it up right away?
Semin? Kulemin? I think Kuznetsov and Tarasenko have been hyped massively since they were drafted (largely due to the fact that they lead the Russian WJC squad over our all mighty Canadian squad), while Burmistrov has taken quiet strides in his development and acclimated to the NA style of game. This season he looks poised to break out and has been getting the second most TOI of any forward on the Jets.
20 points in a season isn't exactly lighting it up. THIS season so far, is another story. He's playing quite well.
