What's so great about Westerholm, Blomstrand, Nermark.... just looking at last rounds of draft.... some guys with 10 on so Elitserien games and so so Superelit stats....

That just shows that SuperElit and Elitserien are better scouted than KHL/MHL...........
Schumacher and Blomstrand is examples of that NHL-teams actually are looking for checking line players from Sweden nowadays.

Schumacher was drafted in the 7th round. Played in a deep junior team (so not much of a chance to put up points), one of the youngest player in the draft, I imagined thought of a as a future checking line player with good size (listed as 6'5'' on the OHL site).

Blomstrand has fantastic skating and good size, also drafted as a future checker. Also drafted from a very deep junior team where he had a limited role last season. Strange that he went as early as 4th round though.

Pathrik Westerholm had extremely impressive Superelit stats, also looked very good in SEL-2, so it make sense that he got drafted in the 6th round.

Nermark was once considered the second best forward among the 1993's from Sweden, has always played for the National team and so. Started out his draft season with a magical Ivan Hlinka where he was the tournaments topscorer, since then he seems to do nothing but slump at least pointwise. A wasted 4th-round pick perhaps?

I don't think any of theese guys would have been drafted if they where russians playing in Russia. But that's hardly news, when NHL-teams scout Russia they are not likely to be looking for future roleplayers (like Blomstrand, Schumacher).
