When people are saying that Leblanc will never be Kesler, it's not a knock on Leblanc. It's simply that these people understand just how great Ryan Kesler is...
Did you read this part of my post..."Leblanc, who is more gifted than Kesler was at the same age(
not counting size and speed
) why can't he become a similar player?"
Not only that you seemingly forgot the point of my entire post. Kesler wasn't always "great", far from it but his hard-work and other variables made him the player he is today. Leblanc is a more gifted player than Kesler was at the same age, why is it so hard to believe that Leblanc's hard work and other skills
make him become a kesler type player(ofcourse I do not mean a carbon copy)?
In Leblanc's draft year he was projected to be a third-liner at the worst case scenario, but likely a second-liner or if he maximizes all his skills a first line center(remember the Mike Richards comparisons?).
I do not not think most of us expect Leblanc to become a first-line center. I think the majority of scouts and fans expect him to become a second-line center. However, would it be so shocking if a projected second liner became a first liner? Happens fairly often.
